The Golfer's Journal

A record of your golfing life.

Not a scorecard. A story.

There are apps that will count every putt and chart every drive. That is not what this is for. The Golfer's Journal is a cloth-bound book for the evening after a round, when you sit down with a pen and spend five minutes setting down what the day was like.

Where you played. Who you played with. The shot you will still be describing at Christmas. The weather that made it memorable, or the conversation on the walk up the ninth.

No single entry matters very much. That is rather the point. Kept season after season, the pages become something no statistic can be, the record of a golfing life.

The Round Page

A handful of prompts. Write as much or as little as you like.

Each round gets a page and a few gentle questions. Some evenings you will fill it. Other evenings a line will do. Both make a fine entry.

  • The course, the date and the company
  • The occasion, and the weather on the day
  • The shot worth remembering
  • Something to carry into next time

Inside the Book

Built for the long game

The rounds

Numbered pages that run straight through the book, one for each round, however many you play in a year.

The seasons

At the close of each year, a review and the milestones you reached, from a first par to a handicap cut.

The record

A register of every course you have played, with a tally for each return visit.

Who is this for?

The late starter

Took up the game later in life? Look back in five years and see, in your own hand, how far you have come.

The reformed data obsessive

Years of strokes gained, launch angles and spreadsheets. This is the antidote. No numbers required, just the round as you remember it.

The wanderer

Heathland, parkland, a wind-blown links on holiday. A record of every course you have played, and who you played it with.

The lover of the game

Early tee times, long walks and good company. You play because you love it, and every round deserves to be remembered.
